Is there WiFi on the Vietnam sleeper bus?

Man, that overnight bus from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City in 2023? Forget about it. WiFi? Hah! More like Wi-Fi-not-Fi. It was advertised, sure, but it was slower than a snail on Valium. Seriously, loading a single webpage felt like an eternity. I swear, I spent longer trying to connect than I actually used the internet once I did. Totally infuriating. I ended up just looking out the window at the passing scenery; that was way more entertaining. The whole experience was a massive letdown.

My expectations? Well, I’d read some blogs, you know, travel blogs, before I went, praising the amazing WiFi on these buses. Complete BS. I was ready to work remotely, check emails, maybe even stream some music. Nope.

What I actually experienced:

• Abysmal internet speed. Like dial-up, but worse.
• Frequent connection drops. It’d connect, then disconnect, then reconnect, then… you get the picture.
• Useless for anything beyond the most basic tasks. Forget about streaming. Even checking email was a struggle.

The bus itself was fine, though. Comfortable enough. But the WiFi – a complete and utter lie. Don’t trust the advertising. Plan on being offline.

Oh, and the entertainment system? They said it had movies. Total crap. A tiny screen with blurry images of some really old stuff. Way better off just looking out the window and listening to my music – which I downloaded beforehand, obvi.

Is there WIFI on Expressway buses?

Expressway buses? WiFi? Duh. Most routes, you betcha. Think of it as a flying carpet, but instead of genies, you get surprisingly decent internet. Hourly service too, so you won’t be stuck offline forever, unless you’re heading to some remote Siberian outpost (in which case, check your expectations).

Key features:

• Luxury Leather Seats: Because butt-comfort is paramount, obviously. Think first-class, minus the tiny airplane food.
• Onboard Wi-Fi: Stay connected. Tweet your journey, post your enviable airport selfies. Or, you know, actually work.
• Airport Access: Fly somewhere exciting? They’ll even drop you off there! I booked my trip to see my Aunt Mildred in Des Moines this way last month.
• Hourly Service: (Mostly) On time. Don’t get your hopes up if it’s rush hour. You know, like everywhere else.

Seriously though, those leather seats? Pure bliss. I once compared the experience to floating on a cloud of finely-crafted cowhide. It was genuinely fantastic. I slept the entire journey from Austin to my parents house in Houston. But the WiFi? Sometimes a tad spotty, like a teenager’s attention span. Still, beats nothing. Right?

Do coach busses have Wi-Fi?

Okay, so like, coach buses totally have Wi-Fi now, duh.

Remember that nightmare Greyhound trip I took to Vegas in, like, 2017? Ugh, never again.

But I took a Megabus from NYC to Boston last summer and, yeah, working Wi-Fi was a total game-changer.

The trip lasted about 4 hours. I was able to watch YouTube videos. It was awesome.

• Amenities I recall:
  • Reclining seats (sorta)
  • Climate control (questionable)
  • Bathroom (shudders)
  • Wi-Fi (actually worked!)
  • Outlets (a few, fight for them!)

The bus held around 50 people, I think?

The Wi-Fi was decent, better than my apartment Wi-Fi.

Honestly, I’d do it again, just for the Wi-Fi. Maybe.

Do Expressway buses have toilets?

Expressway buses. Toilets? Sometimes.

• Long routes see toilets.
• Not always.
• Bus Eireann’s new fleet: yes. (Maybe a ride soon?)
• Regular stops are standard. A pause.

Life’s a highway, and then you… Wait.

• Planning matters. Check the route. Call.
• Consider duration. Small bladder? Plan accordingly.
• Expressway variation. Never assume. Never.

Toilet technology advanced. Self-cleaning now exists. Still smells. I’ve seen things, man.
