• Convenience: Daily sightseeing? Maybe not the best. It’s fine for shorter hops though. I used it to get from my hotel near the beach to the Marble Mountains last year – a great value.

Other transport options in Da Nang offer a more comprehensive experience. You’ll find plenty of taxis and motorbike taxis (xe ôm). Negotiating fares beforehand is crucial for the xe ôm. Remember, haggling is almost expected! Also, Grab (Southeast Asia’s version of Uber) is widely available and reliable. It’s what I primarily used during my 2023 trip.

• Taxis: Metered, generally reliable, though always check the meter.
• Xe ôm: Cheap, fast, exciting. But negotiate the price first or you’ll get ripped off. Seriously. My friend almost got charged ten times the fare one time.
• Grab: Convenient, readily available. A safe bet, especially at night. Just remember to double-check the route on the map displayed.

• Buses: Cheap. Crowded. Inefficient. My least favorite.

• GrabBike: Convenient. Fast. Negotiate price. Be wary.

Cost: Motorbikes, cheapest. Buses, next. Taxis, most.

Speed: Bikes, fastest. GrabBike, similar. Taxis, slow. Buses, slowest.

Comfort: Taxis win. Bikes, hot. Buses, uncomfortable.

Personal note: Avoid the buses in July. Overcrowded. A nightmare. Stick to my motorbike.
