Do you get charged using WhatsApp abroad?
Ugh, WhatsApp abroad, right? It's always a bit of a nail-biter for me. I mean, WhatsApp itself doesn't cost anything extra, thankfully. But, and this is a big but, your phone company? They're a different story. Roaming charges… don't even get me started! One time, I was in Italy, blissfully sending photos of pasta and gelato to my friends, totally oblivious. Then BAM! My phone bill was more expensive than the trip itself. Okay, slight exaggeration, but it was seriously scary. So, learn from my mistakes! Check with your phone company before you even think about using data abroad. Seriously, do it. What's the point of saving a few bucks on WhatsApp if you end up paying a fortune in roaming? Right? I've started getting local SIM cards now when I travel – so much cheaper! Or, you know, just stick to Wi-Fi. Coffee shops, hotels… even McDonald's! Anywhere with free Wi-Fi is your friend when you're traveling. Trust me.
