Do you go through security again for a connecting international flight?
Connecting International Flight: Security Check?
Okay, so connecting flights...security? Ugh. It's the worst part, honestly.
Basically, yeah, you often gotta re-do security again on international connections. It's totally dependent on the airport layout.
I once flew from Rome (FCO) to, uh, I think it was Detroit, via Paris (CDG) around July 2018. Had to haul my bags out of the secure area, then back in. Total nightmare.
Like, if you gotta switch terminals, chances are HIGH you're gonna be doing the whole belt-unbuckling, laptop-out, liquids-in-a-bag thing again.
Remember that time in Amsterdam Schiphol, think 2015 maybe? Transferred to a flight to, um, can't quite remember. Longest security line ever. Missed my pre-flight stroopwafel. Heartbreaking.
So, long story short: factor in EXTRA time. Trust me on this one. Really don't want to miss the flight. Maybe buy something to drink after? A small reward sounds great.
