Changes to Arrival Procedures in the Philippines: E-Arrival Card No Longer Required

Effective August 1, 2022, the Philippines has eliminated the requirement for the e-Arrival Card (eAFC) for all inbound travelers.

Revised Arrival Process

Upon arrival at a Philippine airport, travelers will now follow the simplified arrival process:

1. Present passport and visa (if applicable): Display your passport and visa (if required for your nationality) to the immigration officer.
2. Provide proof of vaccination (if applicable): If applicable, present your proof of vaccination against COVID-19 as required by local regulations.
3. Complete customs declaration (if applicable): If necessary, fill out the customs declaration form to declare any taxable items you may be carrying.
4. Go through security screening: Pass through the security screening process.
5. Proceed to baggage claim: Collect your baggage and proceed to the arrivals area.

Benefits of the Revised Process

The removal of the eAFC streamlines the arrival process, providing the following benefits to travelers:

• Faster clearance: Eliminating the need to fill out the eAFC reduces the time spent at immigration counters.
• Simplified documentation: Travelers no longer need to worry about accessing and presenting the eAFC QR code upon arrival.

Note:

While the eAFC is no longer required, travelers are still advised to prepare necessary documentation such as passports, visas (if applicable), and proof of vaccination before departure.
