Okay, so Grab in Vietnam and cash... Ugh, this is a bit fuzzy. I think I remember trying it once, maybe last summer, July 2023, in Hoi An.
It worked. Definitely. I paid for a GrabBike ride with cash, no problem. Think it was around 50,000 VND.
However, my friend tried it in Hanoi, a few months later and it didn't work, and they had to use their card. Weird.
Maybe it depends on the driver or the area? I'm seriously not sure. Some drivers may prefer digital payments. Payment method could vary greatly. Cash option availability in Vietnam is inconsistent.
