Does green car Shinkansen come with food?

Ugh, no food on the green Shinkansen? Thats seriously disappointing! If Im stuck in a non-reserved seat, Im not leaving my spot – thats a recipe for losing it entirely! Reserved seat? Giving that up feels like throwing money away. Honestly, the whole thing is frustrating. Japans high-speed rail needs to step up its game; a snack car is a basic necessity!

Does the green car Shinkansen even have food? Seriously? Ugh, no food? That’s just… I mean, I was really looking forward to a little something on the way. You know, a nice onigiri, maybe some of that delicious bento they usually have. I pictured myself munching happily while gazing out the window at Mount Fuji, you know? Instead…nothing. Total bummer.

If I’m stuck in a non-reserved seat, forget about getting up for anything. Remember that time I tried to grab a coffee on the local line? Chaos. Absolute, utter chaos. I practically had to fight my way back to my seat. No way I’m risking that again, especially on a Shinkansen! And a reserved seat? Giving that up to get food? That’s like, throwing money – and precious time – out the window! It’s crazy!

Honestly, the whole thing is incredibly frustrating. I was talking to my friend Kenji last week, he’s lived in Japan his whole life, and even he agreed. He said it’s gotten worse recently, too. Fewer and fewer cars have food services. He mentioned something about rising costs and changing passenger habits – something about more people ordering delivery to their seats or bringing their own food. But still! A snack car? It’s a basic amenity! It should be considered a human right, honestly! Japan’s bullet trains are amazing, don’t get me wrong, but this is a serious oversight. They need to up their game. Maybe start with at least one food car per train? Is that too much to ask?
