Does it cost to receive calls when roaming?

Does it actually cost money to receive calls while roaming? Ugh, it’s so confusing, isn’t it? It totally depends on what your phone plan is like. I remember one time, I was in Italy, blissfully unaware, answering calls from my mom, and BAM! Huge bill when I got home. Not fun. Learned that lesson the hard way. So yeah, a lot of phone companies these days have these roaming deals where you basically use your phone like you’re still at home—calls, texts, data, the whole shebang. Meaning, receiving calls shouldn’t cost extra. But, and this is a big but, you really need to double-check the fine print of your specific plan’s roaming policy. Seriously. Don’t be like me in Italy! Look it up online, call your provider… whatever it takes. Better safe than sorry, right?
