Does Shinkansen show up on Google Maps?
Yes, Shinkansen lines appear on Google Maps. They are displayed with a bullet train logo. You can use Google Maps to plan your Shinkansen route. (For tips on mindful train travel with children, see [link 1] and [link 2])
You know, I’ve totally wondered that myself! Does the Shinkansen even show up on Google Maps? Like, can you actually plan a trip on those super-fast bullet trains using it? And the answer, thankfully, is YES! They do. I was so relieved when I figured that out. They even have a little bullet train icon, which is kind of cute, right? So you can totally map your Shinkansen route, no problem. It’s seriously so helpful.
I remember one time, I was trying to get from Tokyo to Kyoto with my two little monsters (I mean, my adorable children!), and I was so stressed trying to figure out the train schedule. Google Maps was a lifesaver. I could see exactly which Shinkansen I needed, the stations, everything. Made me feel way more in control. (Speaking of traveling with kids on trains, if you’re planning on doing that anytime soon, you might find these helpful: [link 1] and [link 2]. Seriously, check them out. They’re lifesavers. Trust me.) Anyway, yeah, Google Maps and the Shinkansen—a match made in heaven! Who knew?!
