Does Grab ride-hailing and delivery work in Vietnam currently?

Grab absolutely works in Vietnam. I use it all the time.

I took a Grab bike from District 1 to Tan Binh District in Ho Chi Minh City on 15th July. Cost me about 40,000 VND. Super convenient.

Grab is essential for getting around in Vietnam. Food delivery too. I ordered pho through Grab on 2nd August, delivered right to my hotel in Hanoi.

They also offer car rides, which is nice for airport transfers. Grab is pretty much everywhere in Southeast Asia, a lifesaver, honestly. Much easier than taxis sometimes.

I even used Grab to rent a scooter for a day in Da Nang last May. Pretty sure it was around 150,000 VND. So yeah, Grab works great in Vietnam. For all sorts of things.

Can we use Grab in Ho Chi Minh City?

Yes. Grab’s everywhere in Ho Chi Minh City. It’s essential. Seriously.

I relied on it constantly during my trip in 2023. So convenient.

  • GrabBike: Cheap, quick, perfect for navigating crazy traffic.
  • GrabCar: More comfortable for longer distances. Air conditioning a lifesaver.
  • GrabFood is a game changer, especially if you’re tired of street food. I used it almost every day.
  • I didn’t use the grocery delivery, but many friends did. They loved it.

The app itself is easy. Even my technologically challenged uncle figured it out. But you know, sometimes the drivers aren’t the easiest to communicate with, language barrier, you get it. Download it. Trust me. You’ll regret it if you don’t. It saved my butt multiple times. My phone almost died once and I almost missed my flight from Tan Son Nhat. Never again.

That’s how essential Grab is. Honestly. Avoid taxis, Grab is safer, more reliable, and far cheaper.
