Does Vietnam have rideshare?
Ride-sharing services in Vietnam: Available?
Okay, so about ride-sharing in Vietnam, lemme tell ya...
Yeah, Grab is the app. Seriously. Think Uber, but like, way more powerful. You'll use it for everything.
I remember being in Hanoi (12/2022 maybe?) and taxis were a nightmare. Grab saved my wallet and my sanity.
It wasn't expensive, think 30,000 VND (around $1.20) for a short hop. Plus, no worrying about getting ripped off, which...happens.
Beyond rides, you can order food – pho at 2 AM, anyone? Book tours. Hotels, too. Grab does it all.
Locals use it all the time, so it’s not just a tourist thing. It's just easy.
Honestly, if you're traveling Vietnam, just download Grab now. Trust me on this one. You need it.
Other apps are around, but Grab is king. Simple, safe, an' useful.
What ride share apps are used in Vietnam?
Ugh, Vietnam. July 2023. Heat, crazy heat. I needed a ride from Nha Trang to that beach resort, Doc Let. Grab was my first choice, always is. It’s everywhere. Easy peasy. Found a car, super cheap. Air con blasting – a lifesaver. Driver was nice, spoke a little English. We chatted about the crazy traffic. He knew all the shortcuts. Total lifesaver. I swear, the Grab app is amazing. No problems.
Then, a few days later, Hoi An. Trying to get to the Ancient Town. Gojek, I think I used Gojek that time. Way more motorbikes, obviously. Crazy traffic again. This time, a tiny motorbike, sweating like crazy. But hey, it got me there fast, weaving through everything. It was an adventure, I guess. Way cheaper than a car, even.
Later that month, I was in Hanoi. Needed a quick ride to the airport. I used Be this time. Clean car, professional driver. Good experience. They had a car option and I chose that one. Very reliable. FastGo? Never used it. Heard about it, but Grab and Be totally won me over. I'm sticking with those two. Grab is my go-to, though.
- Grab: Best overall, widest coverage. Used it tons.
- Gojek: Good for motorbike rides, especially in crowded cities. Cheap.
- Be: Nice cars, good for airport runs or when you need a bit more professionalism.
- FastGo: I haven't used it, can't comment.
