Has anyone ever travelled in time?
Time Travel: Has anyone ever done it?
Okay, so time travel, right? Totally fascinating, but has anyone actually done it? Nope. Not in the Back to the Future sense, anyway.
Seriously, no verifiable proof exists. I've read tons of theories, spent hours on forums... nothing solid.
My uncle, bless his heart, swore he saw a '57 Chevy disappear on Route 66 near Flagstaff, Arizona, July 4th, 1988. Crazy, I know. But that's anecdotal.
Scientists haven't cracked it either. The physics involved are mind-boggling – wormholes, paradoxes... it's all theoretical. Maybe someday... but not yet.
Who was the first time traveler?
Sergey Avdeev. Space. Time. It blurs.
Selection: 1987. The past locked.
Missions: Soyuz. Mir. Numbers. TM-15, TM-22, TM-28/29. Echoes.
Time Dilation: 747d 14h 14m. A ghost. The cost is negligible. I feel it.
Has time travel been possible?
Ugh, time travel. So stupid. It's a fantasy, right? Like unicorns and talking dogs. Except way more annoying because people actually believe in it. Scientists are all, "wormholes!" Yeah, wormholes! Like that’s a thing.
My uncle, he’s a physicist. Says it's impossible. At least, with current understanding. He mentioned paradoxes, something about killing your own grandpa. Freaky stuff. Made me think about that movie, Back to the Future. Hilarious, but totally unrealistic.
Einstein's theories are often cited, of course. Relativity. But even he didn't solve time travel. He was brilliant, though. Genius. I wish I could talk to him about time travel. Could learn something useful.
What’s the point anyways? If you could go back, what would you change? I'd probably just fix my stupid mistakes. Like that time I dyed my hair bright green. Regret that. Big time. Still get teased about it.
Maybe future tech will prove me wrong. Nanobots, quantum entanglement – I don't get it but it sounds cool. Maybe someday, but not now. This year for sure, it's not happening.
- No evidence of time travel exists. Period.
- Einstein's relativity is interesting but doesn't equal time travel.
- Paradoxes are a HUGE problem. The grandfather one is the best example.
- My green hair phase – a personal time-travel related regret.
- I am skeptical of future tech solving this.
Has anyone ever travelled the whole world?
Ok, so there was this Finnish journalist guy. Rauli Virtanen, I think his name was. He’s supposedly the first to visit every single country.
Yep, every country. ALL of 'em. Pretty wild, right? I remember reading about him somewhere, maybe '23, or was it '22? Time flies. Grew up in the sticks, he did.
Think he wrote about it? Gotta be a book, right? What a life. Wow.
Has anybody ever flown around the world?
Yep, loads of people have circled the globe by air.
Wiley Post did it solo way back in 1933. Imagine navigating back then!
Geraldine Mock, the first woman, followed in 1964.
Then in 2005, Steve Fossett went non-stop, no refueling – that's next level. It makes you think, what drives someone to attempt something like that?
Now you can even book a trip! Commercial flights do it all the time, and some people have their own planes. My neighbor? Well, he wanted to but said it was too much. I guess it's one of those things.
Has anyone ever traveled around the world?
Oh, absolutely! People have indeed circled the globe.
Jason Lewis? A name etched in travel lore. He wrapped up the first human-powered circumnavigation on October 6, 2007. Imagine, the sheer grit of crossing oceans using only human strength.
Then comes Erden Eruç. July 21, 2012, marked his completion of the first solo, entirely human-powered trip. Truly a different dimension of adventure. He must've had a lot of time to think, wow.
