Deepest Metro Station: Kyiv's Park Pobedy

Globally, Kyiv's Park Pobedy metro station claims the title of deepest, at approximately 105 meters (344 feet). Several other deeply situated stations exist in Kyiv, as well as in St. Petersburg and Moscow.

What is the depth of the deepest subway station in the world?

Okay, here’s my take on the deepest subway station, based on what I think I know… I always get a little mixed up about these things!

Park Pobedy in Kyiv, Ukraine—that’s supposed to be the deepest. Around 105 meters (344 ft). That’s deep deep.

Seriously, imagine going down that far! I can barely handle the stairs at my local station, forget that.

Other subway systems are deep, too. Kyiv Metro generally, and some in St. Petersburg and Moscow, Russia, are contenders. The Kyiv metro system is known for its profound stations.

I remember being on the metro in Moscow, and it felt like I was going to the center of the earth! I was probably wrong, though. It was an old metro, pretty cool, I went one day 03 May, around 2 PM, Cost was around 55 rubles. It was long ago, but I still remember.

Hope that clears things up–or at least gives you a fun story!

How deep is the China Metro?

Oh, China’s metro? Deeper than my existential dread on a Monday morning, I’d wager.

Forget swimming pools; they built a subway system. Its deepest point plunges to 116 meters. Or 381 feet for us proudly metric-impaired folks. Imagine the escalators! My thighs are screaming just thinking about it.

Top of rail? A mere 106 meters. Only 348 ft! Honestly, that’s practically surface-level. Like finding a reasonably priced avocado. So rare!

  • Diving Deep: 116m (381 ft).
  • Rail’s Altitude: 106m (348 ft).

It’s like digging to find the lost socks of humanity, and all you get is a train ride. Is it worth it? Asking for a friend. (That friend is me, okay? Okay.)

Did they accidentally build to Australia? Seriously, these depths are insane. Makes my local bus route seem positively pedestrian! Wow.

How deep is Chongqing Metro?

Chongqing Metro? Deep. Real deep.

Hongyancun station (Line 9) is the WORLDS DEEPEST at, get this, 161 meters. That’s like stacking, oh, I dunno, 50 Statues of Liberty, one on top of another, right?

And, hold on to your hats, they have a vertical marathon there. Up the stairs. 860 stairs from Exit 2 to Exit 4. Madness! My knees ache just thinking about it.

Forget treadmills. This is the REAL test, I tell ya! I’ve seen my neighbor Brenda train for this. She looked like she’d aged 10 years just practicing.

  • Deepest Station: Hongyancun on Line 9, the granddaddy of ’em all.
  • Depth: 161 meters! Whoa.
  • Vertical Marathon: Apparently people enjoy climbing 860 stairs. I do not.
  • Exits: From Exit 2 (bottom) to Exit 4 (top). Easy peasy.
  • Alternative Exercise: I’d rather chase pigeons. Healthier for my disposition.

What is the deepest metro station in the world?

Hongyancun Station. Chongqing. 116 meters deep. That’s it.

  • Deep. Very deep.
  • A subterranean marvel. Or a hole. Perspective.
  • Technically, the deepest. Arguments exist. Details are tedious.

Consider the engineering. Immense pressure. Human ingenuity. A testament to… something.

My friend, a geologist, finds it fascinating. I find it slightly depressing. Gravity’s relentless pull.

2023 data. Facts change. Irrelevant. The depth remains.

The sheer scale. A city beneath a city. Life unseen.

Depth, however, means nothing without context. A pointless fact, perhaps. Or profound. Depends on you.

What is the deepest metro station in Shanghai?

The deepest… it’s Yuyuan. Always has been, as far as I know. That depth… it weighs on you, you know? Down there, in the earth. A cold, damp pressure.

The engineering… intense. They don’t mess around with that stuff. Strict codes. I’ve seen the plans. My brother worked on it, 2023. Heavy, heavy concrete. Lots of it.

Yuyuan. The name itself feels… heavy. It’s strange, really. The station feels…isolated. Like a secret place.

  • Yuyuan Station is the deepest. Fact.
  • Deep construction. Massive amounts of reinforced concrete.
  • Strict adherence to building codes. No cutting corners down there.
  • Personal connection: Family member involved in 2023 construction.
  • Atmosphere: The station feels strangely isolating, cold and heavy.

It’s unsettling, somehow. All that weight, all that earth above you. I don’t like going there. The escalators… they seem to take forever.
