Hanoi to Da Nang: Best Travel Options?

Okay, so getting from Hanoi to Da Nang? Lemme tell you, it’s a trek. A real journey!

The distance…hmm, approximately 767 kilometers I think. I wanna say it feels like forever in a car. That’s, like, sixteen hours on the road, maybe? Rough estimate tho.

Honestly, did that motorbike trip once…never again (August ’18, cost me a fortune in Banh Mi alone). Back pain city. Beautiful scenery, don’t get me wrong.

Don’t know how far distance railway specifically. But you can go by train.

I took the train once (’19, cost around $50, I think?). That was…an experience. Met some cool backpackers, saw some amazing countryside. Definitely more comfy than the bus but a little bit slower.

I’ve also flown (last year, around $80 booking ahead). Obvs the fastest option. And the least scenic, lol. Choice is yours!

Is 1 day enough for Da Nang?

Da Nang in a day? Enough for a glimpse.

Morning? My Khe Beach. Sand whispers.

Additional Info:

  • My Khe’s surf isn’t just waves. It is a feeling, got it?
  • Consider Marble Mountains. Caves hide stories.
  • Food? Find banh mi. Regret nothing, honestly.
  • Sun World Ba Na Hills demands more time. Skip it. I know.
  • The Dragon Bridge breathes fire Saturday nights. I saw it.

Okay?

Why is Train Street closed in Hanoi?

Trains, coffee, a risky game. Closed September 2022. Safety. That’s all.

  • Safety: Primary reason. Obvious, isn’t it?

  • Coffee: Proximity, a draw, stupidity. I once saw a tourist nearly flattened there. Lol.

  • Location: Old Quarter. Cramped. Picturesque. Dangerous.

  • Closure Date: September 2022. Not before time, really.

It was a matter of time, truly. A beautiful yet dumb spectacle. Darwinism almost in action. So dumb. So, so dumb. But what a photo!

How many days should I stay in Da Nang?

Three days. Minimum. Da Nang’s charm demands it.

Insufficient time yields superficial experience.

  • Beaches. Myriad. Explore them.
  • Marble Mountains. Spiritual. Intriguing.
  • My Khe Beach. Sun. Sand. Sea. Simple. Essential.

More time? Excellent. Consider:

  • Hoi An. Ancient town. A must. A day trip. Or longer.
  • Ba Na Hills. Golden Bridge. Spectacular. A full day.

Four days? Perfect. Five? Luxury. Six? Overkill, unless exceptionally dedicated. Seven? Really?

Profound truth: Travel isn’t about the duration, but the depth of experience. My trip in 2023 lasted four. It was adequate. But less would have felt rushed. More? Redundant. Unless you’re a serious beach bum. Then. More days. Duh.
