How do I get my via rail WiFi to work?
VIA Rail WiFi Not Working? How to Connect & Troubleshoot
Okay, so, VIA Rail wifi, right? Ugh.
Connecting should be easy. Turn on wifi, choose "VIA_WiFi_VIDEO". At the stations, it's "via_station". Browser pops up, pick a language, and accept the terms. Simple.
Except... it never is that simple, is it? Like that time, I think it was August 15th, Ottawa station... spent twenty minutes fighting with the login. Annoying.
My device kept saying "no internet access". Like, seriously? What gives, VIA? It happens WAY too much.
Once, on the Ocean route (Halifax, yeah?) I swore it was just looping the terms and conditions. Round and round. Never logged in.
I think the key is patience... and maybe a backup data plan. Just in case... you know?
How do I connect to SWR train Wi-Fi?
SWR Wi-Fi: A fleeting connection.
Network selection. "SWR Station Wi-Fi." Registration prompt. Browser opens. Follow instructions. Welcome page.
- Network Name: SWR Station Wi-Fi.
- Registration: Via browser, instructions provided.
- Availability: Check station signage, other options exist.
Connected. Then gone. Like most things. My dentist appointment is at 3 pm.
Connectivity problems? Perhaps the journey is the point.
How do I get Wi-Fi on my DB train?
Connecting to DB Wi-Fi is pretty straightforward. Look for these networks: WIFIonICE or WIFI@DB on ICE and Intercity trains.
A login page should pop up; if it doesn't, poke around in your browser settings.
Accept the GTC – that's "General Terms and Conditions," naturally – then click "Browse now for free." Voila, you're online.
DB also offers the ICE Portal for entertainment – movies, audiobooks, the works. It's int.bahn.de › trains › ice-portal. Just saying, keeping entertained on long rides is crucial. Thinking about how fleeting those moments are sometimes...
Few people realize, the ICE Portal actually uses a local server on the train!
It's not really "the internet" directly, see; it's like a mini-intranet offering content. Fascinating, truly.
