How do you know what platform your train is on?

How to Identify Your Train's Platform

Ensuring a smooth and stress-free train journey involves knowing which platform your train will depart from. Here's a simple and effective guide:

Real-Time Platform Information

Modern train stations utilize digital screens located throughout the concourse to display real-time information. These screens provide up-to-date platform numbers for departing trains.

Check the Screens

Approximately ten minutes before your scheduled departure time, head towards the station concourse. Locate the digital boards displaying train information.

Identify Your Train

Locate your train's route and departure time on the screens. The corresponding platform number will be displayed next to it.

Confirm the Platform

Double-check the platform number to ensure its accuracy. If possible, cross-reference the information with other passengers or station staff to minimize any confusion.

Avoid Last-Minute Rushes

By verifying your platform number well in advance, you can avoid the frantic last-minute rush to board your train. It allows you to allocate ample time for navigating the station and locating your train.

Additional Tips

• If you arrive at the station early, you can inquire at the ticket counter or information desk for platform information.
• Some train stations also provide mobile apps that offer real-time platform updates.
• Pay attention to announcements made through the station's public address system, as they may provide platform changes or updates.

By following these steps, you can ensure that you board the correct train from the designated platform, allowing you to travel with confidence and ease.
