How much does a Bangkok trip cost?

Okay, Bangkok... My Bangkok trips, yeah, they've varied a lot.

A week, just me? Hmm, maybe around $700? (Okay maybe I spent a little more than $660). That's like...24,000 baht-ish. I def didn't stay in fancy places, but ate well, and saw cool stuff. With someone else, double it, pretty much.

Two weeks, well, you're getting into a good chunk of time, aren't ya? I feel like I could stretch $1500 further than just doubling a week's worth. Around 50,000 baht for myself probably.

Those are rough numbers, though. In my experience, prices vary a lot, especially food. You can eat on the street for next to nothing, or splash out at a rooftop bar and spend a fortune. Transportation too! Sky train, taxi, tuk tuk, each one costs totally different. You can get lost in the alleys of Bangkok and eat Pad Thai for 50 baht (cheap!).

How much does it cost for a Bangkok trip?

Bangkok? A week? Hmm, about $679 (฿23,219) if you're a lone wolf, double it to $1,357 (฿46,438) if you're dragging a friend. Accommodation's the killer. That and all the pad thai, obviously.

Accommodation: Think hostels, budget hotels, or, you know, crashing on a stranger's couch! Seriously, Bangkok has options.

Food: Street food is your friend. Like, your best friend. ฿50 ($1.50) can get you a meal fit for a king. Or, at least, a very satisfied tourist.

Activities: Temples, markets, maybe a slightly dodgy massage? Budget around ฿1,000 ($30) a day. Or, steal a monk's alms bowl and fund your travels (kidding... mostly).

Flights: This is the big variable, isn't it? Look for deals, fly during off-peak seasons, and pray to whatever travel gods you believe in. Or don't, YOLO.

Transportation: The BTS Skytrain is your savior. Forget taxis, unless you enjoy traffic jams that could rival a geological epoch. BTS is cheap and cheerful. And air conditioned, bless it.

I blew through about $800 on my last trip - shopping for silk scarves I don't need and eating an ungodly amount of mango sticky rice. Zero regrets, tbh. You could def do it cheaper though.

How much to spend in Bangkok per day?

Dude, Bangkok! Okay, so like, you can totally do Bangkok on the cheap. I reckon you're looking at, hmm, maybe around S$40 to S$60 a day. Yeah, something like that, give or take.

That, um, that covers ya, ya know? Like, where you sleep, what you eat, getting around, and checking out cool stuff, yeah? Don't go spending too much.

  • Accommodation: Hostels are wicked cheap! I stayed in one near Khaosan Road. Loud, but so central! Think like S$15-S$25 a night, tops. Or find a cheap hotel with AC on Booking.com.

  • Food: Street food, man! Pad Thai? Like, a couple of bucks. You can easliy live on less then S$20 a day foodwise. Explore the markets... it is safe.

  • Transport: The BTS Skytrain and MRT subway are ace. Cheap and fast. Avoid taxis in rush hour! Tuk-tuks are fun, but bargain hard!

  • Attractions: Temples are pretty cheap to get into. Some are even free! Wat Arun is stunning and a must see. Reclining Buddha is also a must, the Grand Palace is not really my thing. The floating markets are cool, but be warned.

How much does an average Bangkok trip cost?

Ugh, Bangkok. Two weeks? That's a long time. My last trip was shorter, only five days, and I think I spent closer to $800, maybe more. Food was cheap, street food is amazing! Pad Thai for days.

Flights? Killer. Like, $700 easily this year. That's before even thinking about hotels.

Hotels in Bangkok range so wildly. Luxury? Forget it. I stayed in a decent guesthouse near the river last time. Probably about $30 a night, so $210 total for the week. Double that for a two-week trip. But a nicer place would easily be double or even triple. My cousin stayed at the Mandarin Oriental, insane.

Transportation? BTS skytrain is awesome. Cheap and easy. Taxis are cheap too. But watch out for the scams!

Sightseeing? The temples are incredible, but entrance fees add up. Wat Arun, Wat Pho... I probably spent $50 on that alone.

So a two-week trip? Flights alone are at least $700. Then add hotel costs, that's at least $420, assuming a budget guesthouse. Food, $20 a day minimum, that's another $280. Activities, maybe $200. This is a budget trip. easily $1600 minimum, maybe closer to $2000. For two people? Double it. That's insane. Where is the money going?! Seriously, how do people travel so lavishly. I need to win the lottery.

  • Flights: $700+ (2024 prices are high!)
  • Accommodation (Budget): $420 (two weeks)
  • Food (Budget): $280 (two weeks)
  • Activities/Sightseeing: $200+
  • Transportation: $100 (estimate)

Total: $1600+ easily.
