How long should I spend in Dalat?

Three days? Maybe. Felt rushed last time, 2023. So much to see, you know? I wanted more time at the Crazy House. The gardens… I could've stayed there for hours, lost in the strange beauty.

Four days, that feels right. More time for hiking. Lang Biang mountain... the view was breathtaking, but exhausting. A whole day just wasn't enough.

It depends, I guess. On what you want. What you prioritize.

• Sightseeing: Three days minimum, realistically.
• Relaxation: Longer. Much longer. A week perhaps.
• Budget: Ugh, that always limits things.

Dalat's expensive. Especially the nicer hotels. Food's okay, but those cafe lattes... they add up. Plus, entry fees to all those places.

My last trip… I spent way too much on coffee. And souvenirs. Stupid little trinkets. I regret nothing. Almost nothing.

How long should I spend in Dalat?

• Waterfalls!
• Crazy house (worth it, trust me).
• Coffee. Mountains of coffee.

It's affordable. But you could stay longer.

Less than 3 days? Rushing it. More? Maybe if you like REALLY chill.

Dalat food is great. Try the night market!

Don't miss the flower gardens. Amazing photos. I mean, SO MANY.

My budget was around $200. For everything. Flights were extra.

The Crazy House alone needs a couple hours. Seriously.

• Wear comfy shoes.
• Bring a jacket.

I'd go back in a heartbeat. 3 days felt perfect. So chill.

What is the hottest month in Dalat?

April? Hottest? Man, that's Dalat alright.

I swear, April 2023, I was there.

Sweating, actually sweating, at the Xuan Huong Lake.

Not exactly what you expect.

Dalat. Supposed to be cool, yeah? My grandma swore by it.

Used to tell us how it’s an escape from Saigon's killer heat. Liar.

Remember packing? Light jacket, sweater… total waste.

Got burned good. On my forehead. Red as a tomato.

Felt like 30°C. No joke.

But then, evening? Chills! Crazy weather.

Needed a ao dai to stay warm.

Weird place.

• High Temp: Definitely feels hotter than 27°C during the day. I believe it's closer to 30-32°C.
• Low Temp: Evenings get cold. Need a blanket, for sure, around 17°C seems right.
• Personal Tip: Sunscreen. Essential. Hat too.
• Drink: Avocado ice cream saved my life. At least three times.
• Beware: The pho is surprisingly expensive.

What is the best month to visit Dalat?

Dalat? December to March. Seriously. Dry, sunny. Think picnics aren't ruined by monsoons!

Outdoor stuff? Yes. Dalat’s "attractions?" Quotation marks intended, naturally. You've been warned.

Picture this: me, trekking in shorts, NOT resembling a drowned rat. Perfection. Unlike that time in…never mind.

• Ideal months: December - March (duh).
• Weather: Dry. Sunny. Imagine!
• Activities: Literally, anything but hiding indoors.

What month is the hottest in Sweden?

July...it always comes so fast. The hottest. It’s never really hot, not like I imagine other places are.

I remember July 2018. That was different, wasn't it?

We spent weeks by the lake near my grandma's old place. I never thought I'd see Sweden like that.

• July is the warmest month.
• Stockholm and Gothenburg average around 18°C (64°F).
• May, June, and September. Sometimes, they feel better. Nicer.
• The heat is different in the north, of course. I wasn’t born up there, but people still say so.
• 2018, though... it stands out. Really. Everything was dry.

Is visiting Dalat worth it?

Totally worth it, Dalat. Went in July 2023, sweltering hot in Saigon, Dalat was a godsend. Seriously, the air was crisp, cool. A welcome change!

That night market though. Wow. Crazy busy, street food everywhere. I ate this amazing bun bo hue. Best I had in Vietnam! Seriously.

Xuan Huong Lake, beautiful. Took a boat ride, peaceful. But the waterfalls! Seriously stunning. I forget the exact name, one with a crazy steep drop. So high!

Monasteries were interesting, quiet, contemplative. A nice contrast to the busy city life. Spent way too much money on souvenirs, but oh well.

Short on time? Nah. Make the time. It broke up my trip perfectly. Saigon to Hoi An? Dalat in the middle was a smart move. I even did a day trip to a coffee plantation. Learned how they process coffee beans.

• Night market: Incredible street food, buzzing atmosphere.
• Xuan Huong Lake: Peaceful boat rides, stunning scenery.
• Waterfalls: Breathtaking views, amazing photography opportunities.
• Monasteries: Serene atmosphere, cultural immersion.
• Coffee plantation: Fascinating process, delicious coffee.

Honestly, it was amazing. I wish I stayed longer. Go. Just go.
