How long do you need to road trip across Canada?

Driving across Canada takes about a week at minimum. However, to enjoy the sights and attractions, a 3-4 week road trip is recommended. This allows for a relaxed pace and exploring destinations along the Trans-Canada Highway.

So, you’re dreaming of a Canadian road trip, huh? How exciting! I’ve always wanted to do that myself. A week? Maybe, if you’re just trying to get from one end to the other – like, bam, coast to coast, done deal. But honestly? That feels crazy rushed to me. I mean, think of all the amazing stuff you’d miss!

I remember reading about this couple who tried to do it in five days. Five! They were exhausted, missed like half the national parks, and spent most of their time stressing about mileage. They ended up regretting not taking more time. It just sounds utterly miserable, right?

A three to four-week trip? Now that sounds more like it. That gives you some breathing room. You could actually stop and smell the – well, maybe not all the roses, but definitely the amazing mountain air in Banff! Or maybe spend a few days exploring the quirky shops in charming little towns. You know, actually experience the country instead of just zooming through it. Wouldn’t that be much better? I’d rather have memories than just a bunch of blurry photos taken from the car window, you know what I mean?

So yeah, a week is possible, I guess, but three or four weeks? That’s what I’d recommend for a proper Canadian road trip. Otherwise, you might as well just fly. And what’s the fun in that?
