Yonge Street. Longest street, right? Toronto's main drag. Always buzzing. I love the Eaton Centre, though it's a bit… generic now, isn't it?

So much history there. Hudson's Bay Company. Old money vibes. Ugh, remembering that one time I got lost in the Eaton Centre. Never again.

Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre? Beautiful. Classic. Need to go again soon. Maybe catch a show. This year. Definitely.

Yonge and Dundas Square? Times Square North, haha. Crazy busy. Always something going on. Too much sometimes. Overwhelming.

Seriously though, Yonge Street's a beast. It stretches forever. Parades? Festivals? You name it. It's all there. A real Toronto landmark. I wonder how many people walked its length? A million? A billion?

Wow, almost half a million miles? Consider the tire rotations! To traverse such distance shows persistence. Makes you think about what defines "home," doesn't it? Is it a place or the journey itself?

It is important to note that driving habits also play a crucial role. My mother, for example, changes the engine oil with every tire rotation!

The journey is a testament to human capability. The Schmid's epic drive is a record that might stand for a very long time.

How much would it cost to drive around the world?

Thirty-five thousand dollars. Per person. A year. That's what they say. Seems… optimistic. Maybe naive.

Fuel alone, man, fuel alone… it's a monster. And then visas. God, the paperwork. Endless paperwork. The endless, soul-crushing paperwork.

• Vehicle maintenance: Think unexpected repairs in Kazakhstan. Or Bolivia. Not cheap. My uncle’s truck, blown head gasket in the Sahara. Ruined his trip.
• Accommodation: Budget motels mostly, I guess, maybe camping sometimes. Still adds up. Think long drives. Long, lonely drives.
• Food: Street food. Mostly. I crave good pasta, dammit. Never find it. Never again.

Twenty-five thousand feels like a pipe dream. Pure fantasy. Unless you're… I don't know… living out of a van, eating ramen every night. Which, let’s be honest, sounds awful after a month. Two months, tops.

It's more, way more. Forty thousand? Fifty? I wouldn't bet against it. Fifty thousand dollars, minimum. Minimum. This is 2024, after all. Prices are insane.
