How Many Bags Can You Bring Through TSA Precheck?

TSA Precheck is a program that allows travelers to expedite their security screening process. As part of this program, travelers are permitted to carry one carry-on bag and one personal item through security without removing their shoes, laptops, or liquids.

Carry-on Bag

The carry-on bag must meet the standard size requirements for all carry-on bags: no larger than 22 inches long, 14 inches wide, and 9 inches high. The bag must also be able to fit comfortably in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.

Personal Item

The personal item can be a purse, briefcase, laptop bag, or other small item that can fit under the seat in front of you. It must not exceed the maximum size of 18 inches long, 14 inches wide, and 8 inches high.

Additional Items

In addition to your carry-on bag and personal item, you are also permitted to bring the following items through security without removing them from your bags:

  • Liquids in containers that are 3.4 ounces or less and placed in a clear quart-sized bag
  • Laptops and tablets
  • Cell phones
  • Jewelry and watches
  • Keys and loose change

If you are traveling with any items that are not permitted through security, you will need to place them in your checked baggage. For more information on what items are permitted and prohibited through security, please consult the TSA website.
