The tombs? Outrageously ornate. Seriously, they're like giant, ridiculously detailed birthday cakes for dead kings. They went ALL OUT. I even saw a dragon statue that looked like it snorted fire last Tuesday. Okay, maybe not. But almost.

• Imperial Citadel: Magnificent! Bigger than my apartment.
• Royal Tombs: Each one is a masterpiece. Like a competition of "who can make the most extravagant grave?".
• Pagodas: Stunning. Each one has a unique character. I'm pretty sure I saw a grumpy Buddha statue.

My friend, a renowned art thief (don't tell anyone!), even said the craftsmanship rivals the Mona Lisa. Well, maybe not that good, but still pretty darn impressive. It will legit take up a whole morning, and seriously, you'll be beat! Afterwards, get some awesome lunch, you earned it. I'm talking bun bo Hue. It's the only way. My cousin Trang showed me where to get the best! Best bowl.
