How much cash should you bring on a vacation?

I never thought about a daily cash limit before, but $100 a day feels about right. It makes me a little nervous relying only on cash, though – what if I lose it?! Id definitely need more for a fancy dinner or buying souvenirs, but for everyday expenses like snacks and quick meals, it seems reasonable. Still, I’d probably bring my credit card for emergencies – just in case!

Okay, so how much cash should I bring on vacation? It’s a question I’ve honestly never really pondered deeply until now. Someone mentioned a $100 daily limit, and honestly? It kind of feels right, you know? Enough for a decent lunch, a few museum entries, maybe an ice cream or two. But then, the other day, I was telling my friend about this $100 idea, and she looked at me like I was crazy! She’s always buying souvenirs and stuff. Which made me think… what if I see that perfect hand-painted bowl in a little Italian market? $100 won’t cut it! I’d be so bummed. And what if I lose my wallet?! Ugh, the thought makes my stomach clench. I remember that time in Barcelona – I almost lost my card, absolute panic. It was tucked into a hidden pocket, thank goodness. So, yeah, $100 is probably okay for, like, basic stuff – grabbing a coffee, a quick bite, bus fare. But I’d definitely feel more comfortable having my credit card tucked away somewhere safe. You just never know. Like that time I was in New Orleans and stumbled upon this incredible jazz club – totally unplanned. No way I would have wanted to miss that experience just because I was sticking to a cash limit. It’s tricky, isn’t it? Finding that balance between being careful and being able to spontaneously enjoy yourself!
