How much is a yearly tube pass?
How much is a yearly Tube pass? Ugh, don't even get me started on Tube passes! Seriously, they're a killer. So, for zones 1-3, a yearly pass? A cool £2,100. Two THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED pounds! I nearly choked on my tea when I saw that. Adding zone 4? Another jump, to £2,568. I mean, come on. That's practically a small car! And if you're unlucky enough to need zones 5 and 6 – well, prepare yourself for £3,056 and £3,264. Respectively. Those numbers feel wrong, you know? Like, they’re made up. They’re highway robbery!
I remember my friend Sarah, she lived in zone 5. The cost of her commute just... ate her alive. She was constantly stressing about money, always having to scrimp and save. It made a huge difference to her quality of life. Is it really worth it? That’s the question I ask myself every time I tap my Oyster card. Is all that stress, all that money... is it worth being able to say I live in London? Sometimes, I honestly don't know. Maybe I should just move closer to work. But then, where's the fun in that? Argh! This whole thing is making me rethink my life choices. Maybe I'll just start cycling... unless it rains, then forget it.
