Daily Budget in Laos: How Much Money?
Okay, so Laos on a budget, huh? Hmm... Let's see.
If you're hardcore backpacking – think strictly street food and the cheapest possible sleeps – you might squeak by on, like, $7 a day. Seven bucks, seriously! I can barely get lunch for that here!
I remember once, back in Vang Vieng (August '16?), I was trying to be super frugal. Ate mostly noodle soup from a stall. Think it was about 15,000 kip. Which, like, two dollars maybe?
But, real talk? That's rough. $15 a day is way more realistic. You can actually enjoy yourself. Maybe grab a Beerlao (highly recommend, btw).
Thing is, even that number… it depends. Remember Luang Prabang in '19? Beautiful place but things were kinda pricey!
I think a comfortable budget is closer to maybe 30-50 USD a day to feel comfy, not worry about a few Beerlaos and a proper bed. That's closer to MY actual experience.
