How to travel between cities in Vietnam: Best transportation tips?

Okay, so Vietnam travel, huh? I've been there, done that, got the slightly-too-small t-shirt! Here's my take on city-hopping, from a regular dude's perspective, not some travel brochure.

For flying, Vietnam Airlines are everywhere. Used them Hanoi to Saigon, I think? (now Ho Chi Minh City). Pretty painless, cost a few bucks, but time is gold.

Trains? Yeah, the North-South line. Ran from Da Nang to Nha Trang once. Saw some crazy stuff from the window. Views, man, views! Comfy enough, though, if you snag a sleeper berth, total price, maybe around 50 USD.

Sleeper buses? A right of passage! Did the whole Saigon to Mui Ne gig on one. Cramped, smelly, but cheap, like 15 USD cheap! Plus, you meet characters.

Renting a motorbike? Now that's Vietnam. Cruised around Ha Giang province for days. Pure freedom, wind in your hair... and potential for getting seriously lost. But worth it. Think the bike rental was like 10 USD a day, petrol extra.

Bicycles? Okay, I only did this in Hoi An. Flat, easy, charming. But for big distances? Pass. Great for soaking up the local vibe, though. 5-7 USD for rent? Can't rememba exact
