Is 2 days in Ho Chi Minh enough?
Two days in Ho Chi Minh City is enough for key sights, including a trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Prioritize the tunnels if short on time. Pack for heat and humidity; sun protection and hydration are essential.
Is 48 Hours in Ho Chi Minh City Enough?
Ugh, 48 hours in Ho Chi Minh City? Cramped, but doable. Honestly, felt rushed.
Cu Chi Tunnels? Essential. Seriously claustrophobic, but powerful. Remember that humid air, heavy, clinging.
Mekong Delta? We squeezed it in. Boat trip, chaotic markets, felt a bit touristy, honestly. That was in April, ’23. Cost about $50, maybe more.
The city itself? Whirlwind. Scooters everywhere! Crazy. Food was amazing, though. Street food heaven. So much to see.
Hot and humid, yeah, that’s an understatement. Sunblock is your friend. Water too. Seriously, stay hydrated.
Which is more fun, Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh?
Ugh, which is more fun, Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh? Totally subjective, right?
Hanoi’s got that old-school vibe. Think ancient temples, crowded Old Quarter streets, a slower speed, like a time warp. I dunno, it’s pretty cool. But maybe too chill for some.
Ho Chi Minh City, on the other hand is, like, super modern and upbeat. Okay, okay, so maybe the traffic is terrible, but there’s amazing food everywhere.
- Hanoi = Culture Trip
- Ho Chi Minh City = Party City
- Your pref depends!
It all comes down to what you like. Do you want to soak up culture, or eat some tasty food and party hardy all night?
It just depends on what kinda trip are you wanting, ya know? I went to both this year with my fam, and my little bro really loved the water parks in Ho Chi Minh (spelling, maybe?), but I dug the temples in Hanoi. Both are super neat.
How much do you need per day in Vietnam?
Okay, Vietnam… hmm.
$68 a day, huh? That’s what they say. For a whole trip? Seems kinda… low?
-
$68/day is the average cost. Okay, got it. But what about, like, nicer hotels? And more bia hoi?
-
Meals are $23 a day.
- That’s a lot of pho.
-
What if I want fancier food? Oh well.
-
-
Flights aren’t included in that $68, right? Obviously not.
Wait, is that USD or VND? If it’s VND, that’s like, nothing. Maybe I need to rethink my whole budget. I really hope that’s usd!
-
Like, for real this time, how much will I spend? I guess it all depends if I get those tailor-made suits or not.
-
Suits will be very important.
-
And is street food safe? Hope so.
- I need the suits.
-
What if I buy a motorbike there? Could be cheaper than taxis eventually… I could see myself doing that. I need to start making a list.
How many days to spend in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi?
Ugh, Vietnam trip planning. Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh first? Hmmm.
Four days in Hanoi, sounds good, right? Ancient stuff, I’m into that temple thing. Maybe five? No, stick to four. Too much temple can be… overwhelming.
Three days Ho Chi Minh City. Definitely needs more food time. Four? Maybe. That’s a gamble. I hate rushing. I really do. I need to book flights, and hotels, and… Ugh!
Hanoi: Four days, exploring the Old Quarter, that’s a must. The Hoan Kiem Lake, too. Definitely need a cyclo ride. I’m really hoping to find that cool vintage shop someone told me about. Should I extend it to 5? Nah.
Ho Chi Minh City: Three or four? Three feels short. Food, shopping… there’s the War Remnants Museum – depressing but important. Four feels better. More time for pho, banh mi, everything! And the nightlife, man. Crazy.
Food is a BIG factor. Ho Chi Minh City wins on that front, hands down. Think street food galore. Hanoi’s good too, but Ho Chi Minh has a more vibrant street food scene. It’s a vibe.
Okay, four days Hanoi, four days Ho Chi Minh City. It’s decided. Now, flights…
