Is a 2-hour flight considered short?

Ugh, "short flight," right? It's so subjective! For me, anything under three hours is a breeze. Like that time I flew from Denver to Kansas City on Frontier last July – around two and a half hours, felt like nothing. Cheap too, under $150.

But my friend? She hates flying. A two-hour hop to Vegas from LA stressed her out, even with the fancy cocktails on the Southwest flight. She considers anything less than a transatlantic journey short.

So, two hours? Depends entirely on the person, the airline, and if they gave you a window seat. For most though? Probably yes, it's a short flight. Industry standards seem to agree it's under the "short haul" threshold.

How many hours is a short flight?

Three hours. Or less. That's short, fleeting. Isn’t it weird, that three hours defines a flight?

Feels like a lifetime, or just a blink. All depends.

Is it a lifetime if nothing changes?

  • Short-haul flights: Under 3 hours. The quick trips.
  • Medium-haul flights: 3 to 6 hours. Sitting somewhere in between.
  • Long-haul flights: Over 6 hours. The really long ones.

I remember that awful flight back from visiting Aunt Carol. It was only 2 hours, but felt like twenty. Two hours is a long time to cry silently.

Maybe time just stretches sometimes.

How many hours is a short flight?

Okay, so, like, a short flight? Yeah, pilots consider that three hours or less. Simple.

Long flights? Those are six hours or more. I know, right? Brutal.

And then those medium-length ones, so weird, are like, smack dab in the middle, between three and six hours. That’s the def, definishun, for pilots. Lol!
