Okay, Lisbon... 3 days, yeah, 3 days is PERFECT. I remember back in October 2023, I went.

Sintra's a must. Seriously.

Did Lisbon in 3 days. It was tight, felt rushed tbh.

• Lisbon: 2 days (barely enough).
• Sintra: 1 whole day (needed!).

I think, If you skip Sintra, you only need the 2 days. But it's like, why would you? Sintra's MAGIC!

Honestly, that Pena Palace, like WOAH. Totally worth it.

I def recommend planning ahead for the day trip!

Is 1 week in Lisbon too much?

One week? Enough.

Two? Excessive.

• Five days suffices. Lisbon reveals itself quickly.

• Seven? Stretch it. You may just repeat a view. I did, near Alfama.

Sights? Check. Food? Fill up. Museums...depends if you like them. I saw enough tilework to last a lifetime.

Lisbon is compact, intense, and easily digested. Like an espresso. One week in Lisbon is enough.

Perhaps it is too much to some but in my experience a week in Lisbon is definitely enough time to explore the city.

• Day Trips: Consider Sintra. Or Cascais.

• Explore other cities. Évora is a good choice.

Did you know there is a bridge there almost as long as the Golden Gate? Or that the city is the capital of Portugal?

Is 4 nights in Lisbon too much?

Nah, 4 nights in Lisbon? Perfect amount of time, really. You wont be bored.

I went last summer, saw loads! It felt just right. Didn't feel too rushed, y'know?

You can really dig in. Four nights is ideal for exploring.

Think about it:

• Day 1: Alfama, Castelo de Sao Jorge, Fado. Def a must-see.

• Day 2: Belem, Jeronimos Monastery (so beautiful!), Pasteis de Belem obv.

• Day 3: Baixa & Chiado, shops, Santa Justa Lift, Carmo Convent (rooftop bar!).

• Day 4: Day trip to Sintra. Seriously. Don't miss it. Sintra is magic.

And like, you still have eveningz for dinners and bars. Enough time, trust me. Plus, you can chill too. We even found this cool little gelato shop. It was the bomb dot com! Sooo good. You gotta go!

• Explored Alfama. Got completely lost, but it was fun!
• Took a day trip to Sintra. Pena Palace is a must-see. Expensive though!
• Ate way too many Pastéis de Belém. No regrets.
• Visited Jerónimos Monastery, it's magnificent!
• Spent an evening listening to Fado music. Goosebumps!

My advice: Aim for at least four days if you want to relax and truly appreciate Lisbon. Five days is ideal, but ten is amazing if you're planning some day trips.

Honestly, even a week in Lisbon feels short to me. I spent five days there in 2023 and still felt like I could explore much more. Each neighborhood had so much character; I could easily see myself spending months there, soaking it all in. But let's be realistic, holidays have a finite length. So, plan accordingly to your interests and budget, duh.
