Is a charging point available in a train?

While Indian trains don't universally offer dedicated charging points, they typically provide 110V AC sockets. These allow you to plug in standard chargers for phones and other devices, even though homes often use 240V AC. Be sure to check the voltage compatibility of your charger.

Train Charging Points: Are Outlets Available?

Okay, so train charging points in India? Big head-scratcher for me. I travelled from Delhi to Mumbai on the Rajdhani Express last December, and nope, no charging points at my seat. Maybe in newer trains?

My friend swore his AC coach on the Chennai Express in January did have them, though. He said they were near the windows, near the luggage racks.

110V outlets, apparently. Crazy, right? My phone charger barely worked; it’s a 220V, you see. So, I guess it depends on the train, the age of the train, maybe even the specific carriage. A total gamble, basically.

Indian homes use 240V, making the 110V on some trains even weirder. Honestly, it's a bit of a mess. I’m pretty sure there’s no universal standard.
