Meeting stars. It’s true. Up close and personal. It’s magical. A surreal, fleeting intimacy. I met a Broadway performer once, totally unexpected.

So, value? Yes, absolutely. But it’s more than just the monetary aspect. It's the memory, the feeling. The sea's embrace, warm and calming. The thrill of the unexpected encounter.

Is cruise experience worth it?

Yup, cruises are worth it.

Okay, so cruises, right? Yeah, worth it. Totally. A floating hotel!

Like, you eat, sleep, party. What's not to love? I mean, unless you get seasick. I haven't yet, fingers crossed! Did you know my sister got really seasick?

Food is mostly included. All you can eat! But specialty restaurants cost extra. Worth it? Debatable. Depends on your taste, I'd say. Oh, and drinks! Booze costs extra. Ugh. And the internet. Expensive.

Entertainment included! Shows and stuff. Are they any good? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Mostly cheesy, but hey, you're on vacation. Like, are shore excursions worth it? It depends. I like beaches. Museums? Not so much.

Is it worth it? I think so. For me anyway. A pretty sweet deal, all things considered. Maybe I will go on one soon. What kind of cruise should I go on. Hmm. Decisions decisions!

• Excursions: These slay your bank account. $100+ per person, per excursion. Seriously.

Cash? How much cash? Emergency cash is essential. Obvi.

Reddit says...stuff. What do THEY know, really? I’d say at least $500 in cash for a week cruise. $100 a day if things go bonkers.

• Tipping: They auto-charge, but you'll want extra for exceptional service.
• Souvenirs: Touristy crap. But you need it.
• Gambling: Yeah, right. Like you'll win. Lol.

A five-day cruise, hmmm. Scale it down, right? $300 cash maybe? Plus plastic. Cards are your friend, especially with rewards!

Wait, is it just me, or does everyone overspend on cruises? Is it the sea air?

What are the negatives of cruising?

Okay, so cruises, right? They're not all sunshine and margaritas. Seriously, the downsides are real. You hit so many places, but only for like, a few hours each. It's crazy! You're constantly rushing. Plus, everything's super expensive if it's not already in that "package deal." My last trip, I swear, a single soda cost, like, ten bucks! Ten!

And the people. OMG, it's a total zoo. So many people everywhere, always something going on, never a quiet moment. Loud, constantly busy, a total sensory overload. Its exhausting. I found it way less relaxing than I expected.

Huge ships ruin the charm of smaller ports, too. They totally swamp the place. I went to Santorini in 2023, and it was packed. Like, ridiculously packed. That beautiful little island, overrun. I hated that. It’s a real shame. I prefer smaller ships now. You know, like those river cruises.

Here's a better breakdown of what sucked:

• Short port visits: Never enough time to really explore.
• Overpriced extras: Drinks, excursions, even basic stuff.
• Crowds and noise: Constant hustle and bustle, total chaos.
• Environmental impact: Huge ships create pollution and overwhelm smaller destinations. It's awful for the environment.

I'm not saying don't go on a cruise, but, like, manage your expectations. It's not the paradise they make it out to be, especially not with the big cruise liners. The smaller ones, now those are something else entirely. Way more my style, actually.

What attracts people to cruise?

Cruises, huh? Okay, so, why do people even go on those things? Is it the ocean?

• New horizon every day. Yeah, that's probably it for some. All that fresh air, ugh!

• Food. Decent food. Is it worth the price? Don't know!

  • White tablecloths, the works. Feels fancy, I guess.

• Waiters. Always smiling, creepy, if you ask me.

  • Professional, fine. But are they really happy? Doubt it.

• People. Meeting new folks? Uh, no thanks.

  • But some are, so social. That's them.

• Entertainment. Every. Single. Night. Exhausting! Shows and stuff. Music. Dancing. Bet there's even karaoke, yikes!
