Is it easy to travel around Iceland without a car?

Okay, so, Iceland without a car, huh? Is it even possible? Well, let me tell you, Reykjavik itself? Absolutely! You don't need a car there, and honestly, I kinda think it's the best way to experience it!

The city's bus system, Straeto, is surprisingly decent – pretty easy to figure out, even for someone like me who usually gets lost on public transport. Taxis are always an option, of course, but ouch, your wallet might cry a little. Believe me, I learned that lesson the hard way after a late night and a very long walk suddenly seemed less appealing.

But my favorite way, hands down? Walking! Reykjavik is super walkable, and you'll discover all sorts of hidden gems, those charming little streets and colorful houses, that you'd totally miss if you were just whizzing by in a car. Plus, there are tons of cool walking tours. I took one when I first arrived, and it was a fantastic way to get my bearings and learn all about the city's history – like, did you know…? Oh, I could go on and on! Anyway, yeah, Reykjavik on foot? Highly recommend!
