Is it expensive in Da Nang?
Da Nang offers a significantly lower cost of living. A single person's monthly expenses average around $450 (excluding rent), while a family of four can expect to spend roughly $1600 (excluding rent). This makes Da Nang approximately 75% less expensive than New York City.
Is Da Nang Expensive for Tourists?
Da Nang? Not expensive at all, really. I was there last May, 2023.
My wife and I spent around $50 a day, maybe a bit more, including a nice hotel room. We ate amazing seafood dinners for like, $15 total.
Street food was even cheaper. Banh mi for a dollar. Crazy!
Rent isn’t factored into those estimates you gave. I’m sure locals live on much less than $450 a month. We splurged a bit, obviously.
That $1600 for a family of four sounds about right if you’re living comfortably, not backpacking.
My friend rented a scooter for a week, about $5 a day. Definitely explore beyond the city. Marble Mountains are a must-see.
Went to Hoi An one day, ancient town, beautiful. Took a Grab car, maybe $10 each way.
Da Nang, Vietnam, affordable travel. Highly recommend.
