Is it safe to charge in trains?

Charging phones on Indian trains is generally safe. Reserved classes (1A, 2A, 3A, Sleeper, CC) offer charging points. However, power fluctuations are possible; using a power bank may offer better battery protection. Always monitor your device while charging.

Can I safely charge my phone and other devices on trains?
Okay, so charging phones on trains? Totally doable.
In India, the fancier train classes – 1AC, 2AC, 3AC, sleeper – all have those little plugs by the window. Used 'em myself tons of times.
Last October, on the 10 PM Delhi to Mumbai Rajdhani, I charged my Pixel 6. No issues.
But, uh, weird stuff? Once, on a different train, the charging port felt… tingly. Not a shock, just strange.
Honestly, I never worried about battery damage from train power. Seems fine, to me. Still, home charging's probably gentler.
