Is Thai AirAsia a budget airline?
Is Thai AirAsia a budget airline? Duh, yeah, totally! It's one of the classic budget airlines. I remember flying them from Bangkok to Chiang Mai once – ridiculously cheap, like, shockingly so. I think I paid less for the flight than I did for the Pad See Ew I ate at the airport! Of course, it is a budget airline so you know what that means – no frills. You’re paying for your seat and that’s pretty much it. Need a snack? Gotta pay. Want to check a bag? Yup, gotta pay. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a perfectly fine way to travel, especially if you’re just hopping between cities like I was. And who can argue with those prices? Right? It’s a joint venture, I think, between the Malaysian AirAsia and some Thai company…Asia Aviation, maybe? Something like that. Anyway, bottom line, yeah, super budget-friendly for getting around Thailand and other parts of Asia, too.
