So much better for chilling out, though. Quiet nights, beautiful sunsets. Ao Nang felt frantic, a bit overwhelming. Railay was a proper escape, but a bit isolated. This is what I felt. That’s it.

• Ao Nang: Easy access, bustling, convenient, lots of transportation options, less relaxing.
• Railay: Secluded paradise, boat access only, stunning beaches, quieter, more expensive, limited transportation options.

I preferred Railay for the stunning scenery, but Ao Nang was way more practical. Depends on what you prioritize, really. My friend went in June; she said it was super crowded in both places. So consider that, too.
