Is there a walking street in Hoi An?
Hoi An Walking Street: Where to find it?
Hoi An's Ancient Town is the walking street. It's pedestrian-only in the evenings. Magical.
Went last May. Wandered those lantern-lit streets, no cars, just people and bikes. So peaceful.
Specifically, they close off many streets within the Ancient Town. This usually happens after mid-afternoon. Transforms the whole area.
Remember grabbing banh mi from a street vendor (30,000 VND, delicious!) near the Japanese Covered Bridge. 15th May, warm evening. Music drifted from shops.
They limit traffic to create a pedestrian zone. It really enhances the old-town atmosphere. Makes it feel like stepping back in time.
My hotel, the Phu Thinh Boutique Resort, was just outside the walking area. Easy to walk in. Really added to the experience.
