Var sitter NFC-chip på pass?

To locate the NFC chip on a passport, place your phone (camera facing down) on the lower part of the passport. The phones NFC reader is usually on the upper half. A blue checkmark will appear when the reader connects; if it doesnt connect, move the phone until it works.

So, where is that darn NFC chip in my passport, anyway? I swear, it took me ages to figure this out the first time! I mean, you’d think it would be obvious, right? Nope. It’s like a tiny, super-secret agent hiding in plain sight.

Anyway, what I eventually learned – after much frustrated fiddling – is that you gotta put your phone (camera facing down, that’s important, I learned that the hard way!) on the bottom part of your passport. See, most phones have their NFC reader up top, near where the camera is. So, you’re kind of lining things up. It’s a bit of a dance, honestly. You know, like trying to get two magnets to stick just right.

You’ll know you’ve got it when you see a little blue checkmark pop up on your phone. If nothing happens? Don’t panic! Just gently shift your phone around a bit. Sometimes, it’s a little finicky, like that one time I was trying to use it at airport security and my phone was almost dead… whew, that was close! It’s a little frustrating sometimes, but you eventually get the hang of it, you’ll see.

It’s kinda amazing, really, all that technology packed into such a small space. I still remember the first time I used it, I was blown away. I mean a chip in a passport? Who would have ever thought? Just… wow.
