What are the different types of signals in nimby rails?

Ugh, dealing with NIMBY rails and their signals is such a headache! Youve got your basic one-way signals, obviously. Then theres the platform stop points, which are fine, I guess. But block balises and path signals? Those are way too complicated for what they do. And dont even get me started on no-way signals – they just add to the confusion. Its like theyre trying to make it difficult to expand public transit. Its infuriating!

Okay, so NIMBY rails and their signaling systems, right? Ugh, don’t even get me started. It’s a total mess! You’ve got your basic signals, the ones that just tell a train to go or stop – simple enough, I guess. Like, the kind you see on a normal train line, nothing fancy. Think of the ones on the commuter line I used to take – those were straightforward, at least.

Then you have the platform stop signals, which are, well, they’re supposed to make sure trains stop at the right place. Seems logical, but you know, sometimes it feels like they’re overkill. Remember that time the train screeched to a halt just inches from the platform edge? My heart practically leaped into my throat! Overkill much?

And then… the real fun begins. Block balises and path signals. Seriously, what even are those? I’ve spent hours trying to understand the diagrams, and I still feel like I’m reading hieroglyphics. Someone told me they’re for safety, which I get, but it’s all so incredibly complicated. It’s like they were designed by engineers who wanted to make things confusing.

Don’t even get me started on those “no-way” signals. I mean, seriously? Is that really necessary? It’s just adding more layers of complexity to a system that’s already a tangled mess. It’s like they’re intentionally building in obstacles to expanding our public transport systems. Is that what it is? Are they secretly trying to sabotage the whole thing? I wouldn’t put it past some people, honestly. It’s infuriating! I swear, if I have to spend another hour trying to decipher a signaling diagram, I might just lose it. The whole thing just seems needlessly convoluted.
