What city has the best public transportation in the USA?

What city in the US has the best public transport? That’s a tough one, isn’t it? I mean, “best” is subjective, right? But honestly, for sheer scale and overall effectiveness, I gotta give it to New York City.

I’ve been there myself, several times actually – once for a week-long photography course, another time for a friend’s wedding. And let me tell you, navigating that concrete jungle without a car is… well, it’s an experience. Crazy busy, sure, sometimes a total nightmare trying to squeeze onto a packed subway car during rush hour. Remember that time I almost missed my flight because of an unexpected delay on the 7 train? Ugh.

But you know what? You can get almost anywhere you need to go using the subway, buses, even those weird little ferries. I read somewhere – some transport ranking thing, I think – that NYC got like an 88.8 rating. Sounds pretty good, right? I wouldn’t be surprised. Considering how many millions of people are crammed into that city, the fact that it even functions is kind of amazing. You’ll definitely grumble about delays, maybe even curse the MTA a time or two (okay, maybe more than two!), but try getting around LA without a car… then tell me which system sounds better! I’d much rather deal with a delayed train than sit in endless traffic.
