Okay, so Moovit? Yeah, I know about Moovit.

I remember stumbling on it when I was visiting my aunt in Tel Aviv back in 2023. Getting around was like, woof, intense.

Like, I had no idea how to use the bus system. Total chaos. I was legit panicking.

Okay, so, Moovit versus Google Maps, huh? I actually had a moment last summer, July 2024, total chaos at Penn Station.

My train was delayed, AGAIN. Like, seriously, NJ Transit is a mess. Needed to get to my cousin’s in Brooklyn, pronto.

Used Moovit first, always my go-to for train stuff. It showed, accurately, that the train WAS delayed.

But…

It suggested this crazy bus route involving like, three transfers and a walk through some random neighborhood. No way.

Moovit is KING for pinpointing your train’s exact platform, no question. That’s a godsend.

Look, both apps are good, but I pick depending on the situation.

Here is what I think:

• Public Transit Tracking: Moovit is, like, the boss. No contest. They specialize.

• Driving Directions: Google Maps, hands down. Traffic data is usually spot-on, and they have tons of businesses.

• Walking Navigation: I think Google Maps is much better than Moovit.

• User Interface: The interface is much better than Moovit.

• Additional Features: Google Maps’ offers a broader range of features (restaurants, reviews, etc.).

I think the subway and bus systems still need a lot of work…just saying.

Does Moovit work in Europe?

Oh, hey, yeah, Moovit totally works in Europe! Like, all over.

Let’s take, uh, Germany, for example. I was just in Berlin last month for like, Comic Con – crazy, right? — and I used Moovit everywhere. It’s got the whole S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams, and buses all mapped out.

Plus, it even showed me the best walking routes when I was tryna find this real cool currywurst place near the East Side Gallery.

It was a lifesaver, seriously. Much easier than trying to figure out the confusing af BVG website thing, you know?
