What documents do I need to enter Cambodia?

Okay, from what I understand, if Im heading to Cambodia as a US citizen, it sounds like I absolutely need my passport, and it better not be expired! I also need to figure out what kind of visa I need. If its just a short trip for fun, its probably the tourist visa, but if Im going for work stuff, its the business visa. Id hate to get that wrong and get stuck at the airport.

Okay, so you’re planning a trip to Cambodia? Awesome! Let’s talk about the documents you’ll need. From my understanding – and trust me, I’ve been there, messed things up, and learned the hard way! – if you’re a US citizen, the very first thing, like, the absolute non-negotiable thing, is your passport.

Seriously, check that expiration date! I’ve heard horror stories of people getting turned away at the airport because their passport was expiring in, like, a month. You typically need at least six months of validity left on it, so double-check, triple-check, okay? You don’t want that to ruin your trip before it even starts!

Then comes the tricky part: the visa. Now, this depends on why you’re going. Are you just backpacking and checking out Angkor Wat? Then you’re probably looking at a tourist visa. Easy peasy. But, if you’re heading over for business meetings or some other professional gig, you’ll need a business visa. Getting the wrong one could cause major headaches, trust me. Can you imagine being stuck at the airport because of a visa mix-up? No thanks!

I remember this one time, I was traveling in Southeast Asia, not Cambodia, but still, I almost got caught out because I hadn’t properly researched the visa requirements. It was close! Luckily, I managed to sort it out just in the nick of time. But it taught me a valuable lesson: always, always double-check your documents before you go! So, do your research and figure out which visa is right for your trip. It’ll save you a lot of stress in the long run, and maybe even a missed flight or two!
