What has contributed to the growth in tourism?
Seeing more and more Indians exploring their own incredible country makes me so happy! Its fantastic that initiatives like Dekho Apna Desh are encouraging this. Its about time we appreciated the beauty we have right here, and this domestic tourism boom is a testament to that growing pride and curiosity about our own land. Its truly inspiring.
You know, it’s amazing to see what’s fueling this whole tourism boom, especially here in India. It just makes my heart swell, honestly, seeing so many more Indians exploring their own backyard! I mean, India is incredible, right? And for so long, it felt like we were always looking outwards, you know? Like, where can I go internationally? But now? Now, it’s like this rediscovering of what’s right here.
Things like the “Dekho Apna Desh” campaign – that’s been HUGE. I think it’s really tapped into something… this desire to connect with our own heritage, our own stunning landscapes. I remember talking to a friend who, before, would only ever talk about going to Europe. Now, she’s all about exploring different parts of India – she just went to Ladakh and raved about it! It’s infectious, this newfound enthusiasm! So yeah, initiatives like that definitely play a big role.
And, isn’t it funny how sometimes it takes something like, well, maybe even the pandemic restricting international travel, to make you appreciate what’s on your doorstep? I mean, I know that’s kind of a cynical way to look at it, but I think it’s true. It forced a lot of us to look closer to home, and, well, surprise, surprise! We have breathtaking mountains, gorgeous beaches, vibrant cities… It’s like we suddenly woke up and realized, “Wait a minute, we have all THIS?!” It’s been a real awakening, and the growing domestic tourism numbers? They just prove it. It really does feel like a surge of pride and curiosity in our own land, and it’s just… inspiring, you know? It really is.
