What is another way to say well traveled?
Synonyms for Well-Traveled: Better Alternatives?
Okay, so like, what else can you call someone who's, you know, well-traveled? Right?
Here are some words that express the idea of someone experienced in traveling: urban, cultured, worldly, polished, refined, cultivated, experienced, suave.
Honestly, "worldly" is probably my fav. It just...fits, y'know?
I've met some REALLY "refined" people backpacking in hostels (EUR 15/night, Barcelona, July 2016), and it was...interesting. NOT how I expected refined to look.
But then, I think of my Aunt Carol. She's been everywhere. Is she "suave"? Nah. "Cultivated"? Maybe. I guess it depends on how they travel, huh?
What can I say instead of went well?
Went swimmingly! Like a greased piglet at a county fair. That's a visual, right?
Or, it thrived. Think of a particularly robust tomato plant in my Aunt Mildred's garden – a true champion.
It rocketed! Not literally, obviously. Unless we're talking about a rocket, then, yeah, literally.
Here are some less common, more flavorful alternatives:
- Flourished: Sounds fancy, doesn't it? Like a perfectly sculpted croissant.
- Triumphantly succeeded: A bit verbose, but hey, sometimes you need the extra oomph.
- Exceeded expectations: My New Year's resolution to eat more kale? Yeah, that one didn't quite exceed expectations.
- Reached its zenith: Unless it's a particularly short-lived event, in which case, "peak" might be more accurate.
- Aced it: Like my nephew, Ace, acing his spelling test. (He's seven, he spells "cat" like a boss).
Bonus: "Nailed it!" is always a solid choice, even if it's a bit overused. I'm still not over that time I nailed my driver's test. First try, baby.
