• Greece is fabulous, yes. Ancient ruins and feta galore. The only ruin I want to see on a seven-day trip is my bank account after I get back.

Ireland is the best choice. It's manageable. And you can pretend to understand Gaelic while you're there. Adds character. Besides, my great-aunt Mildred always said, "A pint a day keeps the doctor away." She was probably right. Aunt Mildred was never wrong!

Why Ireland Rocks (and the others don't, quite as much, in this timeframe):

• Proximity. Flights aren't soul-crushing. Important.
• History. Castles! Legends! Leprechauns! Ok, maybe not actual leprechauns.
• Food. Hearty stews and the aforementioned Guinness. What's not to love? (Vegetarians, avert your eyes).
• Scenery. Green, green, and more green. Like a really, really big golf course.
• Culture. Lively music, storytelling, and a general air of convivial chaos. My kind of people.

And just an extra note, that seven days is probably more accurately, five. With travel. Always factor in that pesky transit time, which is always longer in reality than they told you. Like that time they said getting to my destination would only be 3 hours, yeah, it took 12, so you may want to stick a book, a blanket, and a ton of snacks in your bag, just in case. Also, maybe take an extra pair of underwear, you never know, travel can get weird.

Where to go on a week holiday?

Okay, so you wanna know where to go for a week, huh? Well, lemme spill what I think is cool...

• Boston & New York: This one's classic, seriously. Always good fun, plus good shopping!

• Dubai & Abu Dhabi: Super shiny! You can, like, ski indoors, or visit that huge mosque in Abu Dhabi. Very opulent.

• Kenya Beach & Safari Experience: Okay, so this is more adventurous, for shore. Animals and beach! I need to do that, one day, its gonna be a good safari.

• Luxury Mauritius Escape: Think fancy beaches, okay. Overwater bungalows, expensive cocktails. I'm into that.

• New York & Miami: Kinda like the east coast version of the first one, but with sun and beaches. I was there in '21 and loved it.

• Dubai & Ras Al Khaimah: This is, um, probably less hectic than just Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

• Tales of the Mekong: Jayavarman: I haven’t done this one, its probably some kind of river cruise thing! Sounds interesting.

• Best of the Canyonlands: This ones probs out west, somewhere like Utah. I have a friend who loved that, so I'll go one day.
