What is the party road in Bangkok called?

Umm, so there's not one "party road," ya know? It's more like, several spots in Bangkok are, like, totally party central. Listen to this:

• RCA. That place is kinda wild, seriously club after club.

• Khao San Road is where you find all the backpackers—super cheap, super crazy. Plus, I saw that guy with the monkey there last month, its crazy.

• Sukhumvit Soi 11... That's where its at. Loads of bars, it gets rowdy!

• Thonglor Soi 10 is a bit more upscale, if you're into that. But very fun.

• And then there's Silom Road, its a bit different vibe, has those night markets during the day.

Which area to stay in Bangkok for nightlife?

Sukhumvit Soi 11. Yeah, that's it. The heart of it all. At least, that's what it felt like. Always buzzing.

Never a dull moment, that's for sure. A million lights, a million faces...or maybe it's just me romanticizing it.

So many bars. Too many, really. I remember that one place, the rooftop one…the name escapes me now. It was…special. For a little while, anyway. It’s gone now, I think.

• Variety: Everything's there. Fancy cocktails, dive bars, live music… the works. I preferred the quieter places, ironically.

• Energy: It's relentless. Sometimes overwhelming, sometimes exhilarating. Mostly overwhelming, looking back.

The whole area…it’s intense. It changed me, I guess. Left a mark.

I miss the late nights, the anonymity. But not the emptiness afterwards. The emptiness always came.

Where is the most popular area in Bangkok?

Man, Bangkok, right? I was there last July. The heat was brutal. Seriously brutal. Like, walking ten steps felt like running a marathon. I stayed near Sukhumvit. Sukhumvit is awesome. So many street food stalls! Pad Thai almost every night. Delicious. I gained, like, five pounds. Totally worth it though. It’s vibrant, full of life, everything you want from a city. Loads of shopping malls too – Siam Paragon was crazy huge.

Siam area is totally touristy, though, I've heard it's getting better, but too much of a buzz for me. I preferred the quieter corners of Sukhumvit. Found a little gem of a bar, super cheap drinks. Great to people watch. My friend really loved the Riverside. Nice views, fancier restaurants, a different vibe completely.

Khao San Road? Forget it. Way too crowded, a total mess. Not my scene. Chinatown was cool, though. I mean the food there... unbelievable. So many different things to try. I ate more dumplings in one week than I probably should. Pratunam was a bit overwhelming, the markets are insane. A chaotic whirlwind of fabric and bargains! The airport area? Duh, only if you have a really early flight.

Sukhumvit for nightlife, Siam for shopping, Riverside for fancy stuff. That’s my takeaway from my Bangkok adventure in 2023. I’ll go back one day, definitely.
