Singapore, hands down, is Asia's squeakiest clean spot, says the Numbeo Pollution Index 2024. It's cleaner than my conscience after donating five bucks.

They're crazy serious about keeping things spotless, y'know. Like, obsessively clean! You could eat off the sidewalks, but I wouldn't recommend it. Unless you're into that sort of thing.

Think of Singapore as the Monica Geller of cities. Always scrubbing, always organizing, always judging your messy apartment. I bet their dust bunnies file taxes.

Why so clean?

• Regulations are tighter than my jeans after Thanksgiving dinner. Seriously.
• They've got fines for everything. Spill your bubble tea? Pay up, buttercup.
• Green initiatives are everywhere. More trees than my uncle's got bad jokes at Christmas. And boy, he's got a lot!
• Public transportation is smoother than a baby's... you get the picture. Less car smog equals cleaner air.

Other places try, bless their hearts. But Singapore's just on another level. It's the gold standard of clean, like a hospital operating room only fancier! I accidentally dropped my gum there once, felt like I committed a crime against humanity. Seriously, never felt so guilty.

Where is the safest place to live in Asia?

Tokyo. Definitely Tokyo. It's so clean, you know? I was there last year, amazing public transport. Never felt unsafe once. Unlike that time in Bangkok… Seriously, the traffic was insane.

Singapore's another one. Super sterile. A bit boring, maybe? But safe? Yes. I mean, the fines are ridiculous, that's a deterrent, right? Think about that chewing gum thing. That’s crazy.

Seoul? Heard it's great. Amazing food, heard it from a friend who lived there in 2023. They loved the nightlife. Safe, but maybe more vibrant than Singapore? More energy, yeah.

Taipei next on the list. Beautiful city. The night markets were insane. Food stalls everywhere. So much delicious food, all kinds of noodles, and dumplings. Crime? I don't recall any issues.

Safety indices this year placed these four cities high. Low crime is key. Infrastructure matters. Political stability, that's a big one, too.

• Tokyo: Top notch public transit. Spotless. Feels incredibly secure.
• Singapore: Strict rules, low crime. A little too organized for me.
• Seoul: Lively, safe, amazing food scene. My friend raves about it.
• Taipei: Fantastic night markets. Great food, cool vibes, seemingly safe.

I'd choose Tokyo. Hands down. But hey, it depends what you prioritize! Personal preference, right? Maybe Seoul if I wanted a bit more… excitement.

Which is the best country in Asia to live in?

Okay, so "best country" is tough, right? I mean, Singapore. Definitely comes to mind.

I visited in, like, 2023. It was... intense. Everything so clean. Like, too clean, almost sterile, ya know?

The Gardens by the Bay were mind-blowing. Seriously. HUGE Supertrees. I mean, WOW!

But, gosh, the cost? A simple coffee near Orchard Road cost a freakin' fortune!

Here's what I think makes Singapore "best" for some:

• Economic stability: It's a powerhouse, plain and simple. Lots of jobs, high salaries (if you can get 'em).
• Healthcare: Top-notch. Seriously, the best doctors & hospitals.
• Safety: I felt safer there than, uh, anywhere else I’ve ever been. Low crime rates, strict laws. No messing around.
• Infrastructure: Everything works. The MRT (subway) is super efficient and gets you anywhere fast.

BUT the downsides are huge too:

• Cost of living: Insane. Rent, food, everything adds up fast. Be prepared to shell out some serious cash.
• Space: Its a tiny island, so apartments are small.
• Crowded: Lots of people. Everywhere.

Seriously, I feel like it's too sterile for me to live there. Like, where's the soul? Know what I mean? I need some grit. But you know what, some people LOVE that about Singapore.

I mean, the food was amazing too. I especially recommend the hawker centers around Geylang.

Geylang, you say?

• A bit dodgy, yeah. But the best food is there.
• Super cheap too.

So, overall, is it "best?" Eh, depends on what you value. Singapore is certainly a frontrunner if you have money and value security. Personally, I will choose somewhere else, like maybe Thailand.

Which country is the best place to live in Asia?

Okay, so best place in Asia? Japan, hands down. I lived there for two years, 2021-2023, in Osaka. Man, the trains! So punctual, it's crazy. Never late. Seriously. And clean. Like, unbelievably clean. I mean, spotless.

Cost of living? Yeah, it's expensive. Rent was a killer. Ramen every day got old fast, but it was cheap-ish. Finding decent groceries took some work, but I adapted. I’m not exaggerating, the public transport system was a dream. I'd never go back to my old life in America.

What I loved:

• Safety. Walking alone at night felt safe, even in less populated areas.
• Efficiency. Everything worked flawlessly.
• Technology. Amazing. I mean genuinely mind-blowing technology everywhere.
• Cleanliness. Seriously obsessive about it. I'm pretty sure I even became slightly more obsessive about cleanliness too.

What sucked:

• The cost. Rent in Osaka is ridiculous. High. Extremely high.
• The language barrier. I studied, but still, ordering food was an adventure sometimes.
• Finding good Western food. Expensive, mostly.

Japan wins though. Overall, the positives outweigh the negatives by a mile. For me, at least. That's my experience, my opinion. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

What is the happiest place in Asia?

Singapore. Top spot, Asia. 2024 Happiness Report. Thirty globally.

• Ranked 30th worldwide. Impressive.
• Second consecutive year. Dominance.
• 2024 World Happiness Report data. Unassailable.

My personal experience? Clean streets, efficient systems. A certain… sterility. But happy? Debatable. The data doesn't lie though, does it? I saw it myself – impeccably organized, almost robotic. Still, the report is the report.

Where is the safest place in Asia to live?

Singapore, duh. Safest in Asia, right? GPI says so, 2024 data, I checked. Though, Hong Kong’s pretty chill too, but, you know…politics. Ugh.

High quality of life? Totally. Clean, efficient. My aunt lived there for a year, loved it. Expensive though! My budget? Forget it.

Healthcare's amazing. Universal. My cousin had a nasty fall last year, recovered quickly. Speedy. Efficient. No complaints. Unlike our system.

What else? Oh, food. Seriously, the food. So diverse. Indian, Chinese, Malay... everything! I’m craving chicken rice now. Seriously. Must find a decent hawker centre near me.

But the heat! Man, the humidity. That's a major downside. Sweating all the time. Still, safety trumps everything, especially when considering my family's safety.

Safety, Healthcare, Food, Efficiency. Those are the big draws.

• Low crime rates.
• Excellent public transport. Seriously, their MRT is awesome.
• Amazing parks. Gardens by the Bay is incredible. I want to go.
• Strict rules. Some find them annoying, but they work.

Yeah. Singapore it is. Even if the rent's astronomical.
