The core difference lies in the platform. “Web check-in” generally refers to the specific check-in process accessed through the airline’s website. You navigate to the airline’s homepage, find the “Check-in” section, enter your booking reference or details, and complete the process. “Online check-in,” on the other hand, is a broader term encompassing web check-in but also potentially including check-in via mobile apps, third-party travel websites, or even dedicated check-in kiosks at the airport (although the latter usually involves further steps beyond initial online registration). Think of “web check-in” as a subset of “online check-in.”
