Greenest Travel: Walking & CyclingWalking and cycling are the absolute greenest travel choices, producing zero emissions during travel. Electric trains, powered by renewables, offer a sustainable alternative for longer distances, although manufacturing and electricity sources impact their overall footprint. Even these low-impact options have a small carbon footprint related to their production.

What is the most eco-friendly and sustainable mode of transportation?
Okay, so eco-friendly travel, huh? Walking and cycling are totally the best, right? Zero emissions while you're actually going somewhere. Pure win.
But, longer trips? Electric trains are a good bet, if the power comes from renewable sources. It's tricky though, making the trains themselves isn't exactly zero-impact. Remember that time I saw a documentary about the rare earth minerals? Yikes.
Even my bike, bought secondhand for £80 in July last year from a guy in Brighton, still had a carbon footprint. The manufacturing, shipping… it all adds up, you know? Nothing's truly perfect.
