What is the highest passenger count in Delhi Metro?

Wow, you know, I was just wondering about how crowded the Delhi Metro gets. It's insane! Like, seriously, how many people are crammed in there on a busy day? Turns out, a LOT. I read somewhere – I think it was a news article, or maybe a blog? – that it hit a crazy high of 7.867 million passengers in one day. Can you even imagine?! That's like, 78.67 lakh people... which, for those of us not used to lakhs, is a mind-boggling number. It’s a testament to how vital the metro is to the city, I guess. I remember being in Delhi once during rush hour – not on the metro, thankfully! – and the streets were just a sea of people. It makes you wonder how a city even functions with that many people moving around. That record-breaking metro day must have been something else. Wall-to-wall people, probably. Ugh, makes me a little claustrophobic just thinking about it! But also, kind of impressed.
